THE HERD

This series was created during my residency at Arts Commons. It was after my trip to Zambia where I spent 6 months getting grounded spiritually and reuniting with my family.

STABLE

In this series I wanted to capture themes of stability. As I grow older I’ve started to realize that it’s a necessary step in the journey towards manhood. I believe being stable spiritually, mentally, physically, and financially go hand in hand with masculinity. The series takes place in a garden to illustrate beauty and growth. The figures represent me and the woman I hope to build a life with. The series was completed in the midst of the pandemic. The pending chaos and uncertainty is what prompted this narrative. As we close this chapter I believe it’s important for us to start finding stability within God ourselves, families and communities.

This series was created on 3D paint. It was my first time using this program. I wanted to take the viewer on a journey with me. I’d consider this series more of an experiment. The first one is where I began and the last one is where I finished. When I first began I didn’t really know what I was doing, as I went further I was a lot more intentional. What do you See?

This series was completed in April of 2021. The dots represent unfocused light. Theres a story thats being told throughout the paintings that i'd like to leave it up to the viewer to decipher.

The Doors

This series was completed in the fall of 2020. I didn’t realize it, but I can honestly say I was lost at the time. The doors illustrate my lack of direction. The figures or entities represent the demons I was battling.
